[ the fact that Kirei had taken on another Servant was almost insulting, if only for the fact that it brought his loyalties into light. Gilgamesh would not have minded a lowly mongrel like Lancer, but instead he had found himself in the company of another who would claim kingship -- one who claimed kingship over him -- and suffice to say, he was less than pleased.

far be it from him to whine to Kirei like a petulant child, so he dealt with his ire in other ways.

namely... smiling at Rider whenever he was granted the opportunity, not unlike a master smiling at his adorable, stupid puppy. ]

[ For a priest, his 'Master's' abode was far too meager-- even the priests in his own realm had much more splendid homes than this dreary temple on a hill. It seemed that as time went on, the standards of living that humanity had held so high had lowered significantly... but in his everlasting mercy, Rider was willing to let this go.

Still, despite the priest's offer to keep him physically manifest, he was not fond of the fact that he had to share the space with two other Servants that claimed to be great heroes. One even dared to call himself 'King of Heroes.' At that, he laughed. It was almost precious but pathetic, how deluded he was.

Rider always notice the smiles Gilgamesh threw his direction, but today made sure he knew. ]

Has my arrival here improved your mood, Gilgamesh? It gladdens me to know that my glowing presence brightens this dreary place so much.

[ That was all he could manage? It would be foolish of him to not at least recognize the attempt that was being had at an insult, but right now, even to call it that would have been generous of him. ]

A child of your gods you may be, King of Uruk, but your tongue is far from being golden like your hair. I expected more from you, as the closest thing to an 'equal' this world, and that 'Grail,' can muster. But I suppose only a complete, true god such as myself could be on equal footing with me, both in conversation and in combat. You may shine brightly, Gilgamesh, and your treasures may glitter in the sun, but next to me, you are nothing.

[ That, and Rider was certain that wine tasted like swill. ]
